What Story Does Your Website Tell?

I’m currently in the middle of reading All Marketers Are Liars: The Power of Telling Authentic Stories in a Low Trust World by Seth Godin. Godin discusses how every aspect of a company needs to tell a story, a story people want to hear, a story people can get behind.

“Marketing is about spreading ideas, and spreading ideas is the single most important output of our civilization.”

Ask yourself these questions:
What story does your website tell about your company?

Does it tell the story that you are out of touch with the latest technology or that you understand that people are using and searching with mobile technology at an increasing rate?

Does it tell the story of professionalism or that you used a DIY website builder because you know your customers expect it but didn’t really care what it looked like?

Does it help you spread the ideas associated with your products and services or is it just a list of what you do?

A well designed website and a good user experience can tell a powerful story about how your whole organization works. Content that is well organized, graphically impressive, and tells people who you are and what you do with clarity can give customers confidence that you do what you do with excellence.

We’d love to hear from you.

What are the stories and ideas that your business is working to spread?
